Amazon India is scaling its ultra-fast delivery service Amazon Now across metros and smaller cities while expanding its micro-fulfilment and farmer sourcing network.
Amazon India has announced plans to expand its ultra-fast delivery service Amazon Now to 100 cities across India as the company accelerates investments in quick commerce, logistics infrastructure, and hyperlocal fulfilment operations.
The expansion will be supported by a network of more than 1,000 micro-fulfilment centres designed to enable faster delivery of groceries, daily essentials, personal care products, electronics, and household items across urban and non-metro markets.
Amazon said the rollout will extend Amazon Now services to cities including Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kanpur, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Meerut, Mysore, Panipat, Kochi, Amritsar, Mangalore, and Visakhapatnam, in addition to existing operations in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, and Bengaluru.
The move highlights intensifying competition in India’s rapidly growing quick commerce sector, where companies are racing to strengthen hyperlocal logistics infrastructure and ultra-fast delivery capabilities.
Amazon Now offers products across categories including groceries, fruits and vegetables, frozen foods, healthcare supplements, pet supplies, beauty products, baby care items, fashion products, and small appliances, with deliveries completed within minutes in eligible locations.
Harsh Goyal said customer demand for faster delivery, product variety, and fresh produce has encouraged the company to accelerate expansion plans.
“Customers continue to enjoy Amazon Now, appreciating our delivery speed, value and selection — especially the quality of fresh produce sourced directly from farmers,” Goyal said.
“Encouraged by this success, we have further accelerated our expansion plans and will scale Amazon Now to 100 cities, fuelled by a network of more than 1,000 micro-fulfilment centres,” he added.
Amazon said the expansion will also allow more than 16,000 farmers to directly connect with customers through sellers operating on Amazon Now, using the company’s logistics and technology infrastructure.
The company stated that the platform enables farmers to supply fresh produce directly into the quick commerce ecosystem while improving product availability and delivery speed for customers.
The rapid expansion forms part of Amazon India’s broader ₹2,800 crore investment programme focused on logistics infrastructure, operational efficiency, and workforce support initiatives.
According to Amazon, the investment will also support associate safety, employee wellbeing, and operational network upgrades across fulfilment centres, sortation hubs, and delivery operations.
Amazon Now operates through strategically located micro-fulfilment centres that position inventory close to residential clusters and use data-driven inventory systems to optimize stock allocation based on local demand patterns.
India’s quick commerce market has expanded rapidly over the past two years as consumers increasingly shift toward instant delivery platforms for groceries and essential goods. Global and domestic companies are investing heavily in warehousing, dark stores, hyperlocal delivery networks, and supply chain automation to capture growth in the segment.
The latest expansion reinforces Amazon’s efforts to strengthen its position in India’s evolving digital commerce and rapid delivery ecosystem.
